“TWINKLE IN TOYLAND”
Information, guidelines and event rules
In order to comply with the event's liability insurance coverage and the underwriters, all parade entry applications must be received by noon on November 22, no exceptions will be permitted.
There will be a cap of 60 entries. Submitting by deadline will not necessarily guarantee placement in the event depending on the entry’s description.
The entries may begin staging at 4:30 p.m. Saturday but must be complete by 5:30 p.m. Please have your vehicles/trailers decorated before entering the staging area. Only vehicles that are in the parade will be allowed to enter the staging area.
The event will begin promptly at 6 p.m.; please have all participants in place and ready.
All participants will be issued a number via email by December 2. Application deadline will be noon Nov. 22.
Entries must have lights and be festively decorated. Lights are mandatory because the event takes place after sunset.
If possible, please use your parking lights during the parade. Please drive slowly and be aware of your surroundings.
Do not distribute business cards, flyers, giveaways or items other than candy.
Candy may not be thrown or tossed from moving vehicles.
Entries with children will be required to have an adequate number of adults to insure safety. The ratio must be one adult per five children.
If you are entering as an individual and you are younger than 18 years of age, please have a parent or guardian contact the committee at NormanChristmasParade@gmail.com to make arrangements to sign a waiver.
No entry may contain a display or live Santa Claus during the event. The committee will provide the exclusive Santa Claus.
If your entry contains horses or other large animals, please have the animals "diapered" or have clean-up crew as part of your entry.
No open flames will be permitted.
Winners will be announced by The Norman Transcript media outlet in print and online.
The Norman Christmas Holiday Parade committee will not be held responsible for accidents resulting in injury to participants and/or damage to entries. Common sense and good judgement are expected.
